You can remove the contents of your Merchant Center account by removing your product data and your website URL from the Overview page.
Note: If you'd like to register your website URL in a new account after removing it, it may take up to an hour before you're able to do so. You will also need to verify and claim the website URL in the new account. Learn more about online shop URL verification.
You can also permanently delete the Google Account that's associated with Merchant Center. Learn more here.
Archiving products
You can now archive products in Merchant Center. Archiving a product removes it from your main product list, diagnostics and from serving on Google surfaces (like ads and cost-free listings). This helps to keep your active offer list clean and manageable.
Key points about archiving:
- Persistence: Archived products remain archived even after a new product data upload.
- Data retention: Product data is not lost and can be restored at any time.
- Updates: Archived products continue to receive updates from your data source.
- Difference from 'Remove': Archiving is a reversible action that hides products from view, while removing your product data or website URL is a more permanent action that removes the entire content of your account.
- Source deletion: If you permanently delete a product from your original data source (for example, your data source file), it will be removed permanently from the Archive folder upon the next sync
Note: Products that are archived manually using the Merchant Center interface can only be restored manually through the interface. They cannot be unarchived via data source uploads or the Merchant API.
