How it works

The local data provider program provides a network of pre-approved partners that can help prospective retailers onboard their product and inventory data onto Google so they can seamlessly enable local inventory ads and or free local listings. These partners help retailers get started with delivering product and inventory data faster through data creation, management, and optimization tools specifically built to help omnichannel merchants leverage local inventory ads and or free local listings.

Implementation

Step 1 In your Merchant Center account, click the Settings & tools icon, then select “Add-ons”.

Step 2 Select Your add-ons tab.

Step 3 In the “Local inventory ads” card or "Free local listings" card, click Go to Local Inventory ads or Go to Free local listings.

Step 4 Click Continue set up next to the country you want to link your local feed provider.

Step 5 Select Add inventory.

Click Advanced options.

Under "Connect your data provider to provide inventory", click Select data provider.

Select your data provider and/or provide their Merchant Center account ID. Click Continue.

Click Request.

Once your data provider has approved your request, you will see that the accounts have been connected.

Remove data provider

Step 1 In your Merchant Center account, click the Settings & tools icon, then select Add-ons.

Step 2 Select Your add-ons tab.

Step 3 In the “Local inventory ads” card or "Free local listings" card, click Go to Local Inventory ads or Go to Free local listings.

Step 4 Click Show me next to the country you want to link your local feed provider.

Step 5 Select Add inventory.

Next to your data provider, click Remove data provider.

After removing the data provider, you will have to provide your inventory data in order to keep showing your local products. You might be asked to go through the inventory verification process if your product pages do not have in-store availability.
