Change the product page experience for your local inventory ads

When you opt in to local inventory ads, you must select the product page experience to show customers what products you have in store and where shoppers can find them. After the product page experience has been reviewed, you'll have the option to change it. Changing your product page experience will require additional setup and verification accordingly.

Note: The current product page experience must first be approved before you can change it. If the product page experience needs to be changed before the approval, you should remove your country and add it again with the desired product page experience.

Switch to product page with in-store availability

If you are changing your product page experience to product pages with in-store availability, you'll have to follow the product page requirements and the primary data requirements for that experience, as mentioned below:

  • You must provide the link [link] and the price [price] attributes to all your products via primary data.
  • Show the product price and have a shop selector in your product page where users can view in-store availability of your products.

You can refer to the product pages with in-store availability for a comprehensive list of requirements.

While waiting for verification, your local inventory ads will keep serving. However, you won't be able to change the experience until it has been reviewed.

Switch to shop-specific product pages with availability and price

If you are changing your product page experience to shop-specific product pages with availability and price, you'll have to follow the product page requirements and the primary data requirements for that experience, as mentioned below:

  • You must provide the link template [link_template] attribute with the {store_code} ValueTrack parameter.
  • Your product page must direct users to a shop-specific product page where they can see shop availability and price without interacting with the page.
  • The shop-specific product page must load the shop information based on the {store_code} Valuetrack parameter filled after product click.

You can reference the shop-specific product pages with availability and price for a comprehensive list of requirements.

While waiting for verification, your local inventory ads will keep serving. However, you won't be able to change the experience until it has been reviewed.

Switch to product pages without in-store availability

If you are changing your product page experience to product pages without in-store availability, you might be asked to go through the inventory verification process. The local inventory ads collection experiences aren't compatible with in-store product and price availability hosted on Google. If you have opted in to pick up today or pick up later, these features will no longer be shown. In order to opt in to product pages without in-store availability, follow the steps below:

Remove your current local inventory ads setup

Step 1 In your Merchant Centre account, select Settings Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] in the left navigation menu, then select Add-ons.

Step 2 Select Active.

Step 3 In the 'Local inventory ads' card, click Show me.

Step 4 Next to the country that you want to remove, click Delete and confirm this choice.

Step 5 If this is the last country in your setup, the add-on for local inventory ads will be removed and have to be enabled again.

Start your onboarding process with product pages without in-store availability

If you don't have an active country in your account, first enable the local inventory ads add-on. Follow the implementation guide for local inventory ads and at step 4 of 10, select product pages without in-store availability. Complete the remaining steps, if you're not yet live on LIA:

  • Step 5 of 10: Your product page experience
  • Step 6 of 10: Your collection experience (optional) or products on display in store (optional)
  • Step 7 of 10: Add inventory
  • Step 8 of 10: (Only for DE, AT and CH) – Add Impressum
  • Step 9 of 10: Verify your inventory. This step is for merchants whose product pages don't show what's in stock in their shops.
  • Step 10 of 10: (Only required for local inventory ads) – Link Google Ads
