Benefits

Connecting Google Ads, Merchant Center and Google Business Profile to Business Manager unlocks features like managing local and online products in Merchant Center and promoting your shops across Merchant Center and Google Ads. This integration also streamlines access and management across multiple platforms.

  • Apps and services: You can add Google apps and services like Google Ads and Google Business Profile and view third-party apps like Shopify and PayPal. You control how much data you want to share with apps.
  • Shops: You can add and edit your shop's Business Profiles for Search and Maps.
  • People and access: You can view people with access to your apps, and you can add and edit people's access to the apps that you use. You can change a person's access to multiple apps at one time.

Manage your Business Manager profile

You can get to Business Manager from Merchant Center, Business Profile, Google Ads or your email invitation.

Give super admin access

Super admins hold the highest access to the connected apps and can manage apps, people and their access to apps for your business. If you sign up for Business Manager with your Google Account, you automatically become a super admin. However, access to specific features and the ability to link services may require additional admin permissions within individual Google services like Merchant Center or Google Ads. Note that in some cases, linking existing accounts may require action from an existing super admin or account owner. In the People and access tab, you can also designate other people in your business as super admins. Learn how to manage your business as a super admin.

As a super admin, you can add or remove:

  • Another super admin
  • Admins and other people with access to apps
  • Google apps and services
  • Shop's Business Profiles
Tip: Users of your business's Google apps have view-only access in Business Manager. Their permissions in the individual Google Accounts remain the same.

Delete your Business Manager profile

If you no longer require your Business Manager profile, you can delete it. Before doing so, you'll need to unlink any Google apps connected to the profile. Once those apps are disconnected, follow these steps to permanently delete your profile:

  1. In Business Manager, click the three dots in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Click Delete profile.
  3. If a red error appears on the next screen, your Business Manager profile is still linked to a Google app.
    1. Remove the link to the Google app, or
    2. Delete the Google app's account entirely
  4. On the next screen, click Delete.

Edit your Business Manager profile name

  1. On your device, open Business Manager.
  2. At the top left, next to the Business Manager profile name, click Edit Edit.
  3. Update the business name.
    • Choose a name that describes the business or part of the business
  4. Click Save.
Tip: If you have multiple businesses, click your Business Manager profile name, then click Edit Edit

Google apps linked to Business Manager

When you add Google apps for your business to Business Manager, super admins get owner access to all connected apps. Your connected Google apps share some of your data with Business Manager.

Available Google apps data to link to Business Manager

Note: You may start receiving emails informing you that Google will automatically link your Google Ads account to your Business Manager profile. If you would like to link immediately, follow the linking steps provided in the email. If you would prefer not to proceed with the linking, make sure that you click the 'opt out' option in the email.
Note: Linking your YouTube channel in Business Manager is gradually rolled out and will be available in your account soon, if it isn't there yet.
Note: As opposed to the other Google apps, super admins don't get any additional access to the connected YouTube channel.

Google apps linked to Merchant Center

In Business Manager, you can also manage other types of app linking by linking Google apps only to Merchant Center. An app that you link to Merchant Center instead of to Business Manager will not share data to other connected apps; rather, only to the single app that you linked. Available Google apps to link to Merchant Center in Business Manager:

  • Google Ads
  • Google Business Profile (shops)
  • Manufacturer Center
  • Google Analytics
  • Display & Video 360
  • YouTube
