If you have both online and physical shops, you can assign products to the specific shops where they are sold. Add this product availability information to Merchant Center to show your products alongside your Google Business Profile across Google, like on Google Search, Google Maps, the Shopping tab and more. Potential customers can then check what's available in store and what's available to order online.
You must first add your products and add your shops to your Merchant Center account before you can specify local product availability.
Manually added stores aren't eligible for local inventory ads or cost-free local listings. If you want to start serving on local inventory ads or cost-free local listings, you'll need to onboard. Learn more in the local inventory ads and cost-free local listings overview.
The manual assignment methods described in this article are only available if you do not use local inventory ads or cost-free local listings.
If you have enabled local inventory ads or cost-free local listings, the 'Add to shop(s)' and 'Remove from shop(s)' UI features will not be visible in your account. You must manage your local inventory directly using your local product data source or the API to ensure that your data is updated accurately.

Get started
There are two methods to assign products to your shops. They are very similar and you can use whichever method you prefer. Below, we'll take you through the recommended method first.
Method 1: Add products to your shops from your product list
- In Merchant Center, go to the left navigation menu and select Products
.
- Select the All products tab. The products shown here are all assigned to your online shop because you haven't yet specified other shops.
- Select the products that you'd like to update as being available at each shop. You can either select one product or multiple products if you plan to mark them as available at the same shop.
- Select Add to shop(s) on the blue bar that appears after selecting the products.
- In the pop-up window, 'Add to shops', choose the shops that you want to add the selected products to.
- Select Add.
Note: Your product availability data will now be shown along with your Google Business Profile across Google sites.
Method 2: Add products to shops using the Sales channels tab
- In Merchant Center, go to Products
.
- Go to the Sales channels tab. It will be blank as you have not added any products yet.
- Select Add products to shops.
- In the pop-up window, select the products that you'd like to mark as available for your shop locations. You can select one product or you can select multiple products if you plan to mark them as available at the same shop location.
- Select Next.
- In the pop-up window that appears, select the shops that you'd like to add the selected products to.
- Select Add.
Next steps
The products that you added will appear in the 'Sales channels' tab shortly. Each product available at each location will appear as its own line item.
Example

.
- Select the All products tab.
- Select a product to open the Product Editor and select Edit product.
- Select the drop-down arrow of the 'Availability' box and select In stock or Out of stock.
- Select Save.
Don't show products on Google
To remove a product from a shop's list of products, follow the steps below:
- In Merchant Center, go to the left navigation menu and select Products
.
- Select the All products tab.
- Select the products that you'd like to remove from one or more shops.
- Select Don't show on Google on the blue bar that appears after selecting the products.
- In the pop-up window, select 'Don't show on Google' and select Apply.
Note: If you're a merchant using local inventory ads or cost-free local listings, products managed by data sources can't be deleted directly in the Merchant Center UI. To remove a product from a specific shop, you must update your local product data source instead. You can either remove the row for that specific product and shop combination, or set its availability attribute to out_of_stock.
