Use “take notes for me” for in person meetings

Important:

Tip: This feature supports one language at a time. Multiple languages spoken in the same meeting aren't currently supported.

How to use the feature

You can now capture notes for an existing meeting space from a scheduled meeting, or for impromptu and casual meetings that are in person. You don't need to be in a meeting room to use this feature.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Meet app Meet app.
  2. Tap Take Notes for Me and then Start taking notes.
    • You can set your device nearby and it will use Gemini to document the meeting.
  3. When notes are being taken, you can select Pause or Stop.
    • If you select "Pause," it will pause both the transcription and note taking. If you want to resume taking notes again, tap Continue.
    • If you select "Stop," a confirmation pop-up message shows, tap Stop taking notes.

Tips:

  • If a user who is not in person wants to join the meeting, you can transition the meeting to a normal video call flow.
  • You'll receive the notes doc in your email and in the Drive folder of whoever turned on the feature.

After you end the meeting

  • The meeting notes document is generated shortly after the meeting ends and is saved in the Drive folder of the person who turned on the feature.

Tips:

  • Meeting notes documents follow the Meet retention policy that your organization has configured.
  • The meeting organizer must have the Workspace edition that includes "take in person notes for me."
