Make Meet calls on your speakers or displays

You can make calls to friends, family, and businesses with a Google Nest speaker or display. Before you make a call from your speaker or display, set up your preferred call method.

Google Duo was rebranded to Google Meet in 2022, but Google Nest display will continue to show the Google Duo icon and only support legacy calls (previously known as Duo). Learn about the transition to Meet calling on mobile.

Important:

  • Newly registered Nest devices can take up to 48 hours to receive incoming legacy calls made from a mobile device or other Nest devices.
    • Tip: You can immediately make outgoing calls.
  • Nest devices won't be able to receive incoming calls from new group calls created after August 2024. Groups created before August 2024 will still ring.
  • Nest devices currently don’t support new Meet calling or receive calls initiated from the web.
  • If you use your Nest device for legacy calls, you won’t receive the Meet calling update on your mobile device. You can continue to receive legacy calls on your Nest device and remain in the legacy experience on mobile.
