Contribute to Google Maps and earn points

When you sign up to be a Local Guide, you can contribute content to Google Maps and get points if it’s published. Learn how to contribute high-quality reviews and photos.

To increase your level, collect points and get Local Guide benefits. Learn more about Local Guides points, levels and badging.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Contribute .
3. Tap your name.
4. Tap the arrow to open up the breakdown.
5. Your points will show up in your profile.

Find content to contribute in Google Maps

You can find a list of things that you can contribute to Google Maps. These include:

• Places to review
• Photos to add
• Questions to answer about a place
• Places that have missing info, like opening hours or phone numbers
• Places with info that must be verified, like opening hours or closures

To contribute to Google Maps:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app .
2. Tap Contribute .
3. Scroll to the bottom.
4. Tap Contribute now.

Tip: Only Level 2 and above Local Guides in certain countries or regions can ask and answer questions about a city.
