To improve Google Maps and share your favourite photos and videos up to 30 seconds long, add them to Google Maps. You can add or remove them at any time. You can't add photos or videos to addresses or coordinates.
When you post photos, others can also find:
- Your name that appears on your About me page
- Other photos you added to Google Maps
- Reviews you wrote on Google Maps
- Location info on your photos and videos

Add photos or videos to Google Maps
You can add media such as photos and videos of places of interest, like businesses or parks. You can't add media to:
- Addresses
- Coordinates
- Private residences
- Geographical areas

Add photos or videos from 'Contribute'
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap Contribute
Add photo.
- To post a photo or video: Tap one or more photos or videos.
- To edit a photo or video’s location: Tap the name of the place, then select a different place.
- Tap Post.
Add photos or videos from a place's page
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app
.
- Search for a place or tap it on the map.
- To get more info, at the bottom, tap the place’s name or address.
- Tap Photos
Add photos.
- Choose what you want to do:
- Choose a photo or video from your gallery: Select one or more photos or videos.
- Take a new photo or video: Tap Camera, then tap the shutter.
- To get suggestions for photos or videos to add to Google Maps, install Google Photos app with back up & sync and turn on Timeline.
- To remove a suggestion, tap Delete

Add photos or videos from 'Explore'
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Google Maps
.
- At the bottom tap Explore

Add photos or videos from Google Photos or your Gallery app
- On your iPhone or iPad, open your Gallery app or Google Photos
.
- Select a photo or video.
- Tap Share
Post to Google Maps
.
- If you can't find that option, tap More
Post to Google Maps
Done.
- If you can't find that option, tap More
- Choose where to post:
- If it’s clear where your photo or video is from, Google Maps will select a place for you.
- If not, tap Pick a place and search for an address or place.
- Tap Post.
Google Photos
Photos uploaded to your Google Maps photos are separate from the photos uploaded to Google Photos. Share your photos to Google Maps so it'll count towards your Local Guides level. Photos that you've added to Google Maps may be backed up in Google Photos if you've enabled auto back-up on your mobile device.
Find your photos or videos on Google Maps
To find all the photos that you've shared on Google Maps:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app

- Tap Contribute
See contributions.
Delete photos or videos in the Google Maps app
Photos or videos that you delete from Google Maps are also automatically removed from Google Search.
To delete a photo or video:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app
.
- Tap Contribute
See contributions.
- Select the photo or video that you want to delete.
- Tap More
Delete this photo.
Photos or videos that you delete from Google Maps aren't automatically removed from:
- Your phone or iPad’s gallery
- Google Photos, if you have back up & sync turned on
- Google Drive, if you have sync turned on

React to a review with emojis
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app
.
- Search for a place or tap it on the map.
- At the bottom, tap the place's name or address.
- At the top, tap Photos or Videos.
- To react to a photo or video, tap Heart
.
- You can also press and hold it to choose from the following five emojis.
- Love
- Helpful
- Amazing
- Yum
- OMG
- You can also press and hold it to choose from the following five emojis.
Tips:
- Anyone can react to your content whether they follow you or not.
- To remove your reaction, tap the icon again.
- If the photo or video is illegal or violates Google policy, you can report it.
- The author of the content will be notified, but your name and info won't be shared.

Report photos or videos on Google Maps
Important:To keep policy violators off Google Maps, we moderate user content. Any violations that we find are subject for review and removal. Learn more about Google Maps' user-generated content policy.
If you see something in Google Maps that is inappropriate or inaccurate, you can let us know.
- Search for a place or tap it on the map.
- Scroll to the photos section, then pick the photo or video that you want to report.
- Tap More
Report this photo.
- Select the reason for your report.
