Fix issues with valid emails in Spam

After you unblock a sender, their emails should no longer be sent to Spam. If their emails continue to go to Spam, try these steps.

Remove the email from Spam

After you remove the email, future emails from that sender won’t go to Spam.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
  2. At the top left, tap Menu and then Spam.
  3. Touch and hold the message.
  4. At the top right, tap More and then Report not spam.

Add the sender to your contacts

When you add the sender to Google Contacts, their emails won’t go to Spam.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open your preferred browser.
  2. Go to Google Contacts.
  3. At the bottom right, tap Add  and then Create a contact.
  4. Enter the contact’s name and an email address or phone number.
  5. Tap Save.

Create a filter for your sender

Important: To create a filter, you must open Gmail from your computer.

You can create a filter so a specific sender’s emails never go to Spam.

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. At the top, in the search bar, click Show search options photos tune.
  3. Next to “From,” enter the sender’s email address.
    • If you want to check that your search works correctly, click Search.
  4. At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter.
  5. Next to “Never send it to Spam,” check the box.
  6. Click Create filter.
