Car rental integration guide

Car rental integration is an API-based service that connects Google to a partner's existing car rentals search API. This integration requires no work from the partner side other than providing access to the API, including credentials.

Benefits of integration

The car rental integration establishes a connection between Google and a partner's car rentals search API.

API support requirements:

The partner API must be able to support Google querying at a constant rate of five queries per second. This querying is performed in a cost-effective manner for the partner.

Required data for airport queries

When Google queries a specific airport location with outbound and return dates, the API must return a comprehensive list of following results:

  • List of car rental locations near or at the site of the airport
  • List of cars available and their associated specs, including:
    • Car name
    • Car type (possibly with ACRISS code)
    • Currency + Price for the stated period including taxes and fees (daily rate, total rate or both)
    • Deeplink booking URL to book the car
    • Image of the car
    • No. of passenger supported
    • No. of bags supported

Location query details

While the API is used for airport-based searches, it’s also necessary to support locations outside of airports. For non-airport sites, the API must be queryable using a unique identifier that accurately identifies the car rental location.
