Your Play Games profile is your unique gaming identity on Google. It brings your gaming activity together in one place, letting you track your progress across Android and PC and connect with your gaming community.
When you create a profile, you can:
- Play everywhere: Automatically save your progress and play seamlessly across your Android phone, tablet, and Google Play Games on PC.
- Track your progress: Build streaks, view your gaming stats, and earn XP to level up.
- Connect with your gaming community: Follow friends and like-minded players to discover new games and view their progress, such as achievements or stats across different games.
- Showcase your style: Customize your profile with a unique gamer name and avatar.
If a game has a sign-in button for Play Games, you can use your Play Games profile with that game.
Create a Play Games profile
On an Android phone or tabletWhen you sign in to a supported game or the Play Games app itself, you'll be asked to create a Play Games profile. You can also create a profile when you set up a new device or in your Google Account menu in Play.
- When prompted, tap Next.
- You'll find a default name and profile image.
- Tap Next.
- Select the settings you’d like to keep.
- Tap Join.
When you sign in to a supported game or the Play Games app itself, you'll be asked to create a Play Games profile.
- You'll see a default profile image. To change, select another image.
- Select Next.
- Type over the default gamer name, and then select Next.
- Confirm your settings.
- Select Sign In Now.
When you sign in to Google Play Games on PC, you'll be asked to create a Play Games profile.
- You'll find a default name and image.
- To change the name, enter over it.
- To change the image, click Edit
.
- Click Create Profile.
Check which account you're using
On an Android phone or tablet- Open the Google Play Store app
.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Tap Settings

- Under your Play Games profile, you'll see what account you're using.
- Go to your device's main Settings menu.
- Under "Personal," select your account.
- To switch accounts, select Remove account.

- On your computer, open Google Play Games beta on PC
.
- At the top left, click your Profile Image.
- Under your gamer name, you'll find what account you're using.
Update your gamer name & profile image
Important: Supervised account profiles can only use auto-generated gamer names.
Access on web- Go to https://play.google.com/games/profile.
- To edit your gamer name:
- At the top, click the current name.
- Enter the desired gamer name.
- Click Save.
- To change your profile image:
- At the top, click the current image.
- Select a new image.
- Click Save.
To edit your gamer name:
- Open the Google Play Store app
.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
- Tap Settings

- Enter the desired gamer name.
- Tap Save.
Tip: You can also change your gamer name from the You tab.
- At the bottom of the Play Store app, tap You.
- At the top, tap your gamer name.
- At the top, tap More
Edit gamer name.
To change your profile image:
- Open the Google Play Store app

- At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
- Tap Settings

- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store app
.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap You.
- Tap Edit
next to your current Profile picture.
- Tap Get started.
- Follow the instructions to generate your profile image.
