Use a screen reader with Google Play

You can read books and magazines or listen to music in Google Play using a screen reader.

You can watch movies using the VoiceOver screen reader.

If you haven't already turned on VoiceOver, visit the Apple help site for instructions.

Find & listen to movies

Navigate movies

  1. If you haven’t already, turn on VoiceOver.
  2. Open Play Movies Play Movies.
  3. You’ll be on the Home screen.
  4. Swipe or touch to explore the screen. As you swipe, you will navigate through the list of movies/buttons. Double tapping on the buttons opens their details pages, while swiping up or down opens their custom actions.

Play a movie

  1. If you haven’t already, turn on VoiceOver.
  2. Open Play Movies Play Movies.
  3. Please note, you can play a movie that you purchased, and play a trailer of the movie that is recommended for you.
    • To play a movie, double tap on the movie button to get to the details page and swipe or find the Play button. Double tap on it and the movie starts playing automatically.
    • To play a movie trailer, swipe or find the movie button and swipe up or down for custom actions. Double tap on “Play Trailer” and it will start playing automatically.

Tips

  • After your movie or movie trailer starts playing automatically, swipe to find the player controls (such as Play and Pause) and a slider that tracks the length of the movie or trailer.
  • The movie or movie trailer opens in landscape mode. Keep this in mind when linear swiping to reach the controls.
