Set alarms and manage notifications on Google Pixel Watch

Learn how to set and edit alarms, manage notifications, and set notification modes through each of their icons.

Manage alarms and notifications

Set an alarm
  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
  2. Swipe up to check all apps.
  3. Tap Alarm.
  4. Tap Add .
  5. Set a time and then tap Confirm .

Once your alarm is created, it's visible on the alarm screen.

Edit an alarm

Edit an alarm to:

  • Change the alarm time.
  • Change the schedule of alarms for days of the week.
  • Turn the alarm vibration on or off.
  • Turn the alarm sound on or off.
  • Delete the alarm altogether.
  1. On the Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
  2. Swipe up to check all apps.
  3. Tap Alarm.
  4. Tap the alarm you want to edit. From here, you can change its alarm settings.
Sync alarms
Important: This feature is only available for Google Pixel Watch 2 and 3, and Google Pixel Phones.

You can copy your phone alarms if you sync them over to your Pixel Watch. When you sync your phone and your Pixel Watch, both devices alert you for each alarm.

  1. On your phone, open Clock .
  2. Tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Turn on Alarm sync.
  4. Choose your watch and tap Sync.

Tap Alarm rings on to choose Adaptive Ringing or Watch and phone.

Fix alarm sync issues

If the alarms on your watch and phone don’t sync properly, check that both devices have the latest operating system and Clock app updates. Make sure that your watch is currently connected to your phone.

Set up notifications

Set up the app and phone notifications you want to receive on Pixel Watch.

Turn notifications on or off
  1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app Google Pixel Watch.
  2. Swipe down, then tap Settings and then Notifications.
  3. Choose a watch or phone app from the list to turn its notifications on or off.

  1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app Google Pixel Watch.
  2. Swipe down, then tap Settings and then Notifications.
  3. Tap Mute notifications.
  4. Choose a mute setting from the list to turn its sound or vibration on or off.

Important: This is only available to Wear OS 5 users.

  1. On the Google Pixel Watch, swipe up to show the notifications list.
  2. Touch and hold an app notification you wish to turn off.
  3. Turn off the notification setting.

Phone notifications for the Pixel Watch app are set to silent. In your phone's settings, turn off silent mode for the Pixel Watch app.

Pixel Watch app notifications aren't turned on in settings.
  1. On the Pixel Watch app, go to Notifications.
  2. Tap Mute notifications.
  3. Make sure the Hide silent notifications setting is turned off.
Notifications for the Pixel Watch app are set to silent on your phone, and silent notifications are hidden in the Pixel Watch app.
  1. On the Pixel Watch app, go to Watch preferences.
  2. Tap Sound & Vibration.
  3. Make sure the Hide silent notifications setting is turned off.

Notifications received while you use your phone don't appear on your watch if they're set to Mute.

  1. On the Pixel Watch app, go to Notifications.
  2. Tap Mute Notifications.
  3. Make sure the Mute Notifications setting under "Watch" is turned off.

Notifications are set to silent when you don't wear your watch.

  1. On your Pixel Watch, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Vibration and then Silence watch when not being worn.
  3. Make sure the Silence watch when not being worn setting is turned off.

The following modes are turned on and therefore notifications are disabled:

  • Bedtime
  • Do Not Disturb
  • Theater
  1. On your Pixel Watch, swipe down on the watch face.
  2. Make sure the Bedtime, Do Not Disturb, and Theater mode icons are turned off.

Tip: Disabled icons have a dark background.

Check your connection
If you don't receive notifications, confirm that your Pixel Watch is connected to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or you have an LTE-enabled watch.
Tip: The phone paired with your watch must be turned on to receive notifications.
Verify that you're connected to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:
  1. On the Google Pixel Watch, swipe down.
  2. Tap Settings and then Connectivity and then Bluetooth.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Swipe right to go back to the menu and tap Wi-Fi.
  5. Turn on Wi-Fi.

If you get a network connection error, you can fix issues connecting to Wi-Fi.

If you don't use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, confirm that your watch has an LTE carrier plan:

  1. On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down.
  2. Tap Settings and then Connectivity and then Mobile.

Set notification modes

Select a notification mode to temporarily pause multiple notifications at once. Swipe down from the top of the Google Pixel Watch screen and tap an icon to quickly switch to:

Airplane mode
Airplane mode turns off all radios on your watch: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, and GPS/GNSS. You can turn each of these on independently.
Theater mode
Theater mode turns off your screen temporarily and suppresses notifications and incoming calls.
Do Not Disturb
Important: This feature is only available for Google Pixel Watch 2 and 3, and Google Pixel Phones.

Do Not Disturb turns off notifications and silences incoming calls. Press and hold to customize exceptions for priority and repeat callers, alarms, and media sounds.

Battery Saver
Battery Saver turns off Always on Display and Tilt-to-wake settings.
Touch lock
Touch lock turns off the ability to navigate the screen with touch.
Bedtime mode
Important: This feature is only available for Google Pixel Watch 2 and 3, and Google Pixel Phones.

Bedtime mode automatically turns on based on your detected sleep. It disables the Always on Display and notifications to ensure a disruption-free sleep and saves battery life.

To manually turn Bedtime mode on or off:

  1. On your Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
  2. Swipe up to check all apps.
  3. Tap Bedtime mode to activate the Bedtime mode option.
  4. Once a prompt appears, tap the check mark to confirm.
  5. To turn it off, tap Bedtime mode .

Tip:

  • You can manually enter or exit Bedtime mode from Quick Settings.
  • When Bedtime mode is on, the watch screen, Tilt-to-wake, and touch are turned off. Only alarms, priority, and repeat callers notify you.

Alternatively, you can enable Mode Sync to synchronize Do Not Disturb and Bedtime mode between your watch and phone.

To manually turn on Mode Sync:

  1. Open the Pixel Watch app.
  2. Under "Notifications," tap Sync across watch and phone.
