How to set up your Google Pixel Watch
What you need to get started
To begin set up, you need:

A Google Pixel Watch,Google Pixel Watch 2, or Google Pixel Watch 3.
- The Charging Cable included with your Watch purchase.
- A Google Account.
Important: To use a Google Workspace Account on Pixel Watch, you must turn off "Device Management." Learn how to manage these Google Workspace Account settings. - A compatible Android phone and updated to:
- Pixel Watch: Version 8.0 or newer1
- Pixel Watch 2: Version 9.0 or newer
- Pixel Watch 3: Version 10.0 or newer
- Your phone is connected to the internet through Wi-Fi or LTE.
- The latest version of the Google Pixel Watch app

If you can't find the Google Pixel Watch app in the Google Play Store, confirm that the address on file for your Google Play Store account is located in a supported country or region.
- Ensure that your phone and watch are fully charged.
- Turn on Bluetooth and Location settings on your phone.
- Attach your selected band to your watch and adjust the band and size for optimal comfort. Learn how to wear the Google Pixel Watch.
Press the crown for about 3 seconds and wait for the screen to light up.
Follow the on-screen instructions in the app and select Google Pixel Watch.
A matching pairing code will be displayed on both the app and watch.
- If the codes match: Tap Pair. The pairing process will now begin and can take a few minutes to complete.
- If the codes do not match, refer to Blank, frozen, or unresponsive screen issues to restart your device and try again. If the codes still don't match, go to Fix Pixel Watch setup and phone pairing issues.
If you haven’t already downloaded the Google Pixel Watch app, you’ll be instructed to install the latest version of the app.
Choose which apps to connect to your watch. Select apps such as Calendar or Gmail.
- Open the Google Pixel Watch app

- Create a Google Account or sign in with an existing one to continue the setup process.
- On Google Pixel Watch, sign in to your Google Account.
For the best experience, we recommend that you download and connect to the Fitbit mobile app. This way, you can easily set up and monitor your activity and sleep using Fitbit on your Google Pixel Watch.
If you purchased Google Pixel Watch LTE, set up and manage an LTE carrier plan for Google Pixel Watch.
On-screen instructions will guide you through setting up or connecting:
- Google Pay.
- Google Assistant.
- A personalized lock screen PIN or pattern.
- Other Google Play Store apps available on Google Pixel Watch.
During setup, you can turn on the TalkBack text-to-speech accessibility shortcut. Triple tap the side button next to the crown.
If you haven't updated your Watch during setup, you can update your system settings now. Make sure your watch is charging and connected to a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi router.
Pixel Watch 2: When you update over Wi-Fi, this update will take 15 to 20 minutes. If you update over Bluetooth, the update could take significantly longer (up to an hour). You need to unlock the watch to check that the setup is complete.
- On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down
tap Settings

- Tap System
System updates. Google Pixel Watch will check available updates.
Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to finish the set up.
When your device and watch successfully connect, "Connected" will appear in the Google Pixel Watch app. If your device and watch aren't connected, "Disconnected" will appear on the watch screen.
Fix setup and pairing issues
Learn how to resolve set up and pairing issues on your watch and phone.
Make sure that:
- Your phone is connected to the internet through Wi-Fi or LTE.
- You’re using the correct pin or passcode to unlock your Watch and sign in to your account.
- Your Pixel Watch is fully on.
On your phone:
- Open the Google Pixel Watch app

- Tap System
Disconnect & reset
Reset (but don't erase eSIM).
- Go to Settings
Connected Devices
forget any watch devices listed.
On your watch:
Once the watch displays the pairing animation, bring the phone and watch close together again to retry the pairing process.
- Watch the Set up Pixel Watch video to confirm that all steps were fully completed.
- Ensure the Pixel Watch battery is fully charged.
- Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Refer to Connect through Bluetooth on your Pixel phone.
- Confirm that your location is set up. Refer to Manage your Pixel phone’s location settings.
- Make sure your watch and phone are physically beside each other. Your phone must be within 0.5 m (1.6 ft) of your Pixel Watch for Fast Pair to work.
- Ensure your phone is connected to either a Wi-Fi or mobile network.
On your phone:
- Uninstall the Google Pixel Watch app

- Go to Settings
Connected Devices
forget any watch devices listed.
On your watch:
- Hold the crown for 5 seconds until the power menu appears
Restart.
- Once the watch restarts, retry the pairing process by bringing the phone and watch together again.
When the screen freezes while pairing, restart your Watch.
- Press and hold the crown for 3 seconds.
- Scroll down and tap Restart.
- Once the watch restarts, wait till the watch is fully on.
- Retry the pairing process. Bring the phone and watch together again.
