Send international money transfers with Google Pay (US only)

Important:

  • This article is for US residents who want to send money to friends and family in India, Mexico, Brazil, and the Philippines.
  • This feature is currently available to a select audience only and will gradually roll out to all US users.

Google Pay partners with third-party money transfer providers so you can send money internationally to select countries. To help you compare rates and fees, the third-party money transfer providers surface money transfer quotes.

Send money internationally

Important:

  • To make an international transfer, you must complete a one-time verification of your personal details.
  • Before you send money, you must confirm the personal information of the recipient. You may lose your money if you accidentally pay the wrong person.
  1. Go to the Google Wallet website.
  2. On the left, click International transfers.
  3. Select the currency.
  4. Enter the amount you want to transfer to the recipient.
  5. To find quotes from the third-party providers that Google partners with, click Select.
    • Rates and fees are subject to change, based on the delivery method you choose and the recipient’s bank.
    • Cash pickup providers and the recipient’s bank may charge additional fees.
  6. Verify your details. Learn how to verify your identity.
  7. Select a recipient or click Add new recipient.
  8. Follow the steps to add a recipient.
    • Tip: Your recipient’s details will be saved on the Google Wallet website so you won’t need to enter them again.
  1. Select or add your payment method.
  2. The third-party transfer provider may ask for more details about the transfer.
  3. To enter the info, click Continue.
  4. To send, click Confirm transfer.
    • You'll be informed of the exact amount the recipient receives before you confirm the transfer.

Understand your transactions

Important:

  • You can only find transactions that you initiated on the Google Wallet website. For more info on your third-party provider’s initiated transactions, contact your third-party money transfer provider.
  • If you have an account with the selected third-party provider, Google Pay initiated transactions won’t be on the provider's website.

To find your transaction details:

  1. Open the Google Wallet website.
  2. Click Transactions.
  3. Check for a transaction with "Transfer provided by [provider name].”
  4. Select transaction.

If the recipient needs confirmation of the transfer, you can share a screenshot of the confirmation or a downloadable receipt. You can find a downloadable receipt in the transaction details on the Google Wallet website.

Transactions can be transferred instantly. You can track and cancel your transactions on the Google Wallet website. To do this, check the transaction details page for estimated completion time or with the money transfer provider.

Cancel or dispute a transaction

You can cancel some pending transactions on the Google Wallet website. To dispute completed transactions or cancel a pending transaction that you’re unable to cancel, contact your third-party money transfer provider.

Before you send money, confirm the recipient’s personal information. When you make a transfer, a request is sent to the selected third-party money transfer provider to transfer money to the recipient. After the transfer is completed, the transfer can’t be reversed.

Modify recipient information

Important: Once you submit a transfer, you can’t edit the recipient’s details in Google Pay. If you want to edit recipient details to an existing transaction, contact your third-party money transfer provider.

You can manage edits to recipient information or delete a recipient on the Google Wallet website before you confirm the transfer.

About money transfer services

International money transfers are provided by third-party transfer providers as Google Pay doesn’t provide this service. To provide the funds to your selected third-party transfer provider and conduct an international money transfer, Google Pay partners with an independent third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc.

If you transact with a third-party transfer provider with your Google Account, you’ll be bound by the provider’s terms of use and privacy policies. Third-party transfer providers may require certain info when their transaction fulfills certain conditions. Learn how third-party transfer providers handle your personal data.

International money transfers done through Google Pay are separate from any other accounts you may have with the third-party transfer providers. Your profiles will remain separate and you need to upload documents to verify your account through Google Pay based on the provider. You won’t find Google Pay international transaction info on your third-party transfer provider’s account. To initiate international transactions from the third-party transfer provider’s website, you may need to create a new account.
