Hi there,
Thanks for your inquiry.
Yes, there is a family plan available. Google One plans of 100 GB or more can be shared with family. The person who shares their storage is called the Google One plan manager. This person can start or stop sharing their Google One plan at any time. Google One can be shared with up to 5 family members.
FAQ:
- With the parent account, go to Your family on Google.
- Click Get Started > Create family group.
- Follow the instructions to add family members and set up a Family Library.
- With the parent account, go to Google One ⚙️ Settings > Manage family settings.
- Turn on Share Google One with family.
📎 Note: When you share a service with the family group it's shared with the entire family group and there's no feature to selectively share with specific members of the family group.
- Must have a personal Google (Gmail) Account. They can't join a family with a Google Account from work, school, or other organization.
- Must live in the same country as the family manager.
- Can only be part of one family group.
- Must not have been in any other family group in the past 12 months.
- Must not be over storage quota at the time of being invited, so that they can receive the invitation to join the family.
What happens when a family member joins a family group:
- Ownership of the shared Drive storage is retained by the parent account.
- Extra storage is automatically shared with the family group, but not allocated or assigned to individual members’ Drives, and usage limits can't be set.
- When a family member exceeds their personal storage, they will start using the shared storage from the parent account, labeled as Family in Google One storage.
- If the family member doesn't want to maintain an existing Google One subscription while joined with a family group, they should:
- Cancel their Google One membership before joining a family group, then...
- Join a family group on Google before the expiry of the subscription period (so that they can get the invitation while still having subscribed storage available).
Kind regards,
Jo
