paid for annual, got charged again the next month and now told it's not refundable

i paid for annual google one last month and this month saw a pending charge for the same amount. i downgraded to monthly thinking it was a glitch and it charged me for monthly. i have 2 google one subscriptions but the other one goes through on the 6th so it's not that. why am i being charged multiple times when i already paid?

note: chat support was confusing and told me it's not refundable and that i got charged because i downgraded.. but i only downgraded to avoid about $48 charge. either way i shouldn't have been charged again because i paid for a whole year šŸ˜£

Hi there,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Can you provide a screenshot as evidence that there was a pending charge? (maybe you got an email notification)

āš ļø ATTENTION āš ļø
Switching from an Annual to Monthly subscription results in an immediate fee for the first month, followed by prorated credit of the Annual subscription, which is then followed by the regular Monthly subscription fee. Requesting a refund of the initial monthly fee will result in immediate termination of the Google One subscription.

This is shown very clearly when you switch from Annual to Monthly. I know this because I have tested the process myself.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Google One subscriptions. It sounds like there may have been a technical issue or glitch causing the double charge. I would recommend reaching out to Google One support again and explaining the situation clearly. You can also try contacting Google One support via email or phone to see if they can help resolve the issue and provide a refund for the extra charges. Make sure to provide all the necessary details and be persistent in seeking a resolution.

Why would it charge me if i already paid for an entire year though? how does that make sense?
