How to use Nest Aware
Your Nest camera can remember familiar faces and notify you when it detects people it doesn't recognize. You can manage your face library to name face profiles, identify new faces, or delete face profiles. Learn how Familiar face detection works.
When you turn on Sound detection on your Nest speakers, displays, or cameras, they’re able to identify emergency events. For example, it can detect the sound of a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, or breaking glass.
With Sound detection enabled, any home member can get a notification, hear a short recording, or listen live on their device. Learn how to set up Sound detection on your camera.
If you have a speaker or display, learn how Sound detection works for speakers and displays.You can use the Google Home app to contact an emergency call center closest to your home with Emergency calling, even when you're away. From the Activity tab, make emergency calls during emergency events. To use Emergency calling, you must complete the setup in the Home app.

Access your camera’s video history
Important: Video history on Google Home for web is available only for cameras in the Google Home app. Learn how to transfer devices to the Google Home app.
Google Home app
- Open the Google Home app

- Tap Favorites
or Devices
.
- Select your camera.
- You can check video history under the camera’s live view.
Tip: To switch between the types of view, tap Timeline or Events list

Google Home for web
- Go to home.google.com.
- Sign in to the Google Account you use to manage your devices in the mobile app.
- Choose your camera's name or live feed. The screen will display the camera's event video history on one side and its live feed on the other.
Manage your Nest Aware subscription
Important: If your subscription lapses, you'll lose access to your video history and face library.
Your Nest Aware subscriptions are automatically billed to your saved payment method every month or year. Renewals are based on the billing cycle you selected when you purchased your Nest Aware subscription. You can manage your subscriptions on the Google Store.
