Use your Wifi device’s cognitive enhancement features

Use your Wifi device’s hearing enhancement features
You’ll encounter different light colors and frequency of flashing depending on your device’s status. Check your Wi-Fi network’s status quickly using the device’s LED lights instead of relying on an alert tone from your mobile device.

The light ring on the bottom of the point shows various statuses.
Tip: The 2 white LEDs on the top of the point indicate volume control and help you know where to touch to control volume. These will appear when music is playing and your hand gets close or when you touch the volume controls.

Use voice commands to check your Internet speed
Available with Nest Wifi or Google Wifi in the Google Home app. You can say "Hey Google, what's my internet speed?"
Use voice commands to pause the Internet on demand or on a schedule
Before you begin, create a Family Wi-Fi group.
You can pause and unpause groups with your voice. Say "Hey Google," then:
- "Pause Wi-Fi for [Family Wi-Fi group name]."
- "Unpause Wi-Fi for [Family Wi-Fi group name]."

Use voice commands on your Nest Wifi point
Your Nest Wifi point has a speaker with a voice assistant. This allows you to play music, manage your Wi-Fi network, find answers, control your connected devices, and more with just your voice. You can set your device to play a brief sound before and after you give a voice command to confirm that it’s recording your instructions.
To get a brief sound at the start or end of your request confirming that your Nest Wifi point is recording your command:
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your Nest Wifi.
- Open the Google Home app

, then touch and hold your device's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings
Accessibility.
- To get a sound after you say "Hey Google," turn on Play start sound.
- To get a sound after your voice assistant stops listening, turn on Play end sound.
