How do I get started with Fitbit kids devices?

Get the whole family moving and making memories with a supervised child account and Fitbit Ace, Fitbit Ace 2, or Fitbit Ace 3. Use Ace devices with a protected Google Health app view for kids.

1 | Set up Fitbit Ace devices

Charge your tracker. To begin setting up your tracker, connect it to the charging cable.

Set up Ace devices. Create a new Google account or log in to your existing Google account on the primary phone or tablet your child will use with their tracker.

Family account

Create a family account. Create a family account, then add your child and help them set up their profile.

Check the Google Health app. Sync your tracker with the Google Health app on the primary phone or tablet your child will use with their tracker to see their latest stats.

Check your stats. Swipe up from the clock face to access stats including steps, active minutes, and sleep duration (Ace 2 and Ace 3 only). Get additional details in the Google Health app.

Never miss a call. When connected to their phone, Ace devices can alert kids to incoming calls. If the tracker is connected to a parent's phone, turn off call notifications under kid view in the Google Health app.

Change the clock face. Pick from a variety of clock faces, including several clock faces exclusive to Ace devices. Note that animated clock faces require more frequent charging.

Set an alarm. Set an alarm in the Google Health app and dismiss it on your wrist. On Ace 2 and Ace 3, turn alarms on or off in the Alarms app .

Use the timer and stopwatch. On Ace 2 and Ace 3, use the timer and stopwatch features to guide homework time, time races to the end of the block, and more.

Prevent unintended button presses. Turn on the water lock setting on Ace 3 when you're in water, for example showering or swimming, to prevent the buttons on your tracker from activating. Press and hold the buttons to access quick settings on Ace 3 and tap Water Lock A water droplet.

Snooze distractions. On Ace 3, turn on DND or Sleep mode to temporarily turn off notifications. Sleep mode also dims your screen and turns off Screen Wake . Press and hold the buttons to access quick settings on Ace 3 and tap DND or Sleep .

3 | Get fit as a family

Use kid view in the Google Health app. Through the protected kid view, kids and parents can see limited data like their kids’ stats and clock face options.

Use parent view in the Google Health app. Parent view allows parents to manage their family account, invite family members, approve kids’ friends, and create child accounts.

Stay active every day. The CDC recommends kids get 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Ace devices include a 60-minute active minutes goal for extra motivation.

Maintain healthy sleep habits. Use the Google Health app to schedule bedtime reminders and alarms that wake kids with quiet buzzing on their wrists.

Get moving more often. In the Google Health app, set and customize friendly reminders for kids to move and stretch their legs.

Note that on Ace and Ace 2, reminders to move are turned off by default; turn on reminders in the Google Health app.
