To set up your new Googlebook faster, use Quick Start to transfer your Google Account and Wi-Fi info from an existing Android device, iPhone, or iPad.
Before you begin
To use Quick Start, make sure you have:
- A Googlebook
- A Wi-Fi connection
- A Google Account
- A nearby Android device, iPhone, or iPad connected to Wi-Fi and signed in to the Google Account you want to set up on your Googlebook
Set up your Googlebook with Quick Start
Important: Make sure your other device is nearby, Bluetooth is on, and you have a Wi-Fi connection.
- When you turn on and set up your Googlebook for the first time, you find a screen that says, “Set up using another device.”
- Select the device to set up your Googlebook:
- Android device
- On your Android device, a pop-up dialog guides you to scan the QR code. If the pop-up dialog doesn't open, scan the QR code with your camera.
- To set up Googlebook without another device, select Skip.
- iPhone or iPad
- Android device
- When a "Scan the QR code" screen appears on your Googlebook, scan the QR code with your other device's camera.
- If you set up your Googlebook with an Android device, your Googlebook connects to your Android device's Wi-Fi network. You also sign in to your Google Account automatically.
- If you set up your Googlebook with an iPhone or iPad, when prompted, connect to your preferred Wi-Fi network and sign in to your Google Account.
- When prompted, verify your identity.
- If you have multiple accounts on your Android phone, when prompted, select the account you want to set up on your Googlebook.
- To copy your apps and data, select Next.
- Wait for a few minutes to get ready to copy.
- To skip this, select Don’t copy.
- Choose how to copy your data:
- Express: You can only copy data that isn’t available in your Google Account.
- Customize: Choose what to copy from your other device.
- Select Copy

- To cancel the transfer, select Stop copying.
- To continue device setup, select Next.
