Troubleshoot external display issues

If your external monitor isn't working as expected, including if it defaults to lower resolution or refresh rate, consider these troubleshooting options:

  • Check cables: Ensure all cables (for example, HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C) are securely connected to both your Googlebook and the external monitor. Try using a different cable if possible, as faulty cables can cause display issues.
  • Verify monitor capabilities: Confirm that your external monitor supports the desired resolution and refresh rate. You can usually get this information in your monitor's user manual or on the manufacturer's website.
  • Update software: Ensure your Googlebook's operating system is up to date, as updates often include improvements for display compatibility.

If the issue persists, try connecting the external monitor to another device to rule out a monitor-specific problem.
