Personalize your experience and access all Google services with your Googlebook. This guide covers the initial setup, from powering on to customizing security settings.
Begin setup
Prepare the following for a smooth setup process:
- Charge your Googlebook: Connect your device to a power outlet using the charger that came in the box.
- Have your Wi-Fi network name and password ready: Your device needs to connect to the internet in order to complete setup.
- Prepare your Google Account: You need an active Google Account to sign in and personalize your Googlebook. You can create one during setup if needed.
Turn on your Googlebook & follow on-screen instructions
Important: When you set up your Googlebook for the first time, it might need to complete a software update. This can take around 15 minutes.
- Press the power button: A welcome message appears.
- Follow on-screen instructions: Initial setup steps guide you.
- Select your preferred language and region.
- You can also set up your Googlebook using another device. This will automatically allow your device to connect to your preferred Wi-Fi network and sign into your Google account.
- If you do not want to do this, select Skip to continue setting up your device.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Choose who will use the device.
- For myself: Set up the device for personal use.
- For my child: Set up a child account with parental controls.
- Accept the Google terms of service and privacy policy.
- Sign in with your Google Account: Enter your Google Account email address and password.
- Set up security and Google services: Set up face unlock, fingerprint unlock, a PIN, or a pattern. Then, accept the Privacy Policy and customize your Google services.
- Complete personalization: After you complete the essential setup, follow on-screen steps to customize your experience. This includes prompts to personalize your apps, set up AI features, configure Quick Share, and adjust additional settings for use.
