Use the Task Manager app on your Googlebook

This powerful diagnostic tool monitors real-time CPU and memory utilization by applications and features. It helps you identify resource-intensive processes, manage running applications, and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure optimal system stability and responsiveness.

Open Task Manager

You can open the Task Manager app using one of these methods:

  • From your app list:
    1. Open your Googlebook's app tray.
    2. Search for Task Manager and select the button to open it.
  • Through Settings:
    1. Go to your Googlebook's Settings app .
    2. Select "Apps."
    3. Scroll down and select Task Manager .
  • Through Developer Options
    1. Go to your Googlebook's Settings app .
    2. Select "System."
    3. Select "Developer Options."
    4. Select "Running services."

Tip: You can also open the Task Manager app from the Diagnostics app. At the bottom left, select Task manager.

Monitor system resources & process details

Task Manager provides a comprehensive overview of your Googlebook's resource usage, from overall system performance to detailed process-level information:

Get an overview of system resources

  • Open the Task Manager app .
  • On the main screen, review graphs that display real-time trends for overall CPU and memory usage.
  • Check the total available memory and current usage by the system and various applications.

Get detailed process information for an application

  • Open the Task Manager app .
  • From the running applications list, select an individual application row.
  • A new detailed page opens, showing all individual processes associated with that specific application.
  • On this detailed page, you can find the respective resource consumption (CPU usage, CPU time, and memory) for each individual process.

Manage applications & processes

Task Manager lets you interact with running applications and their underlying processes:

  • Manage running applications: Find the table of running applications on the main Task Manager screen.
  • Get application details: For each application, you can get details such as its current CPU usage, total CPU time, and memory usage.
  • To find resource-intensive apps, select column headers (for example, "CPU usage" or "memory usage") to sort the list.
  • Select an application from the list and select the End task button to stop it.
