Troubleshoot your Wi-Fi connection

Try these solutions in order if your Googlebook is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi:

1. Check network connection

First, check the basic status of your Wi-Fi connection.

  1. Open your Googlebook's Settings app .
  2. Select Network & internet and then Internet.
  3. Confirm if you are connected to a network. Below the network name, it says "Connected."

2. Disconnect & reconnect to the network

Temporarily disconnecting and reconnecting can resolve minor connection glitches.

  1. Open your Googlebook’s Settings app .
  2. Select Network & internet and then Internet.
  3. Select the network you are connected to.
  4. Select Disconnect and then select Connect to reconnect.

3. Restart your Googlebook

A simple restart can often resolve temporary network glitches.

  1. Open Quick Settings on the top right.
  2. Select the power icon Power.
  3. Select Restart.

4. Forget & rejoin the Wi-Fi network

Forgetting and rejoining a network clears stored settings and can fix persistent issues.

  1. Open your Googlebook’s Settings app .
  2. Select Network & internet and then Internet.
  3. Select the network you are connected to.
  4. Select Forget.
  5. Re-select the internet network under "Networks" & reconnect to it.

5. Use the Diagnostics

Use the Diagnostics to identify specific issues with your Googlebook's network hardware.

  1. Open the Diagnostics app .
  2. Select Connectivity.
  3. Select Run test to check the health of your networks.

6. Reboot your modem & router

Restarting your Wi-Fi equipment can refresh your internet connection and clear any temporary issues.

  1. If the Wi-Fi router and modem are yours, try turning them off and then on again.
  2. Unplug the router and modem's power cords from the power outlet for 15 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cords back in.
  4. Check that all cords and cables are secure at both ends.
  5. Wait a few minutes until the modem and router lights are working correctly (refer to the device manual or manufacturer's support site). If the lights aren't working, you may have an issue with the modem, router, or internet connection.
