Using feeds to pull the most relevant data into your App campaign ads may improve your ad performance. This article explains how to clearly track App campaign feed performance so you can optimize your feeds and ads. Learn more About using feeds in App campaigns.
Instructions
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu

- Select App campaigns in the campaigns menu at the top left.
- Select a specific App campaign in the campaigns menu.
- You’ll find the campaign “Overview” page. There you’ll find two feed performance cards.
Feed diagnostics card
This is a graph that reveals the number of feed items that are in each of the different categories of policy review.
- For Google Merchant Center feeds:
- You’ll find 4 categories:
- Ready to serve: Feed items that are approved, in stock in Merchant Center and ready to be used
- Not ready to serve: Feed items that are out of stock. Update these feed items in Merchant Center when they’re in stock again by using the availability attribute.
- Inactive: Feed items that are impacted by a paused campaign or ad group or excluded from the campaign or ad group (such as product group filters or geo targeting).
- Disapproved: Feed items that violate Shopping ads policies.
- You can hover over the graph to check the specific numbers for each category.
- You can also click on the three dot menu
at the top right to download the graph as an image or provide feedback on your Overview experience.
- The “View feed details” link will take you to your data feed in Merchant Center.
- You’ll find 4 categories:
- For business data feeds:
- You’ll find 4 designations:
- Approved: feed items that are approved and ready to be used.
- Approved (limited): feed items that are only approved in certain countries and on certain devices due to the nature of the content.
- Under review: feed items that are currently being reviewed for policy compliance.
- Disapproved: feed items that violate Google Ads policies and can’t be used.
- You can hover over each category in the graph to check the number of items in that category and the percentage of those items out of the total items.
- You can also click on the three dot menu
at the top right to download the graph as an image or provide feedback on your Overview experience.
- The “View feed details” link will take you to the feed detail page in your business data, where you can view details per feed item.
- You’ll find 4 designations:
Feed performance card
As ad assets: You’ll notice a chart tracking campaign performance when items in your feed are shown in your ads.
If you click on the three dot menu at the top right, you can select a metric to track in each of the charts. Metrics to choose from include “Impressions”, “Clicks”, “Installs” (if your campaign is for installs), “In-app actions”, and “Cost”. Once you’ve selected a metric to chart, you can click again on the three dot menu
at the top right to download the chart as an image.
