If you pay for your Google Ads account using monthly invoicing, it’s possible that your billing setup may become deactivated for various reasons, such as:
- The account is unlinked from its paying manager
- The payments profile is unlinked from its paying manager
- The account hasn't served ads for an extended period
In any of the above circumstances, you'll need to create a new billing setup to continue using your Google Ads account.
You have 2 options to set up billing in your Google Ads account:
- Continue with monthly invoicing
- Switch to manual or automatic payments (check which payment options are available for your country)
Stay on monthly invoicing
To use monthly invoicing for your Google Ads account, the account needs to be linked to a manager account responsible for the billing setup. This manager account is known as a paying manager.
After you make sure your Google Ads account is linked to the paying manager of your choice and have gathered the required information, log in to that manager account (as a standard, admin, or billing-only user) and follow the set up instructions listed in this article.
Switch to manual or automatic payments
If you prefer not to use monthly invoicing with your account, you can set up billing using either a manual or automatic payment method (check which payment options are available for your country).
When you are ready to proceed, follow the instructions to Add a new payment method in Google Ads.
