Ads certifications are professional credentials that Google offers to individuals who demonstrate proficiency in basic and advanced aspects of Google Ads and expertise in online advertising.
The User Certifications page gives you some key information about a user and their certification status. Learn more About Google Ads certifications.
You can access Google Ads certifications on the Skillshop Google Ads Certification page, provided you’re signed-in to Skillshop.
Before you begin
Your Google Partners registered Ads manager account should have at least:
- 50% of your strategists certified in Google Ads (up to 100 users)
- Note: Account strategists are individuals in your organization who manage Google Ads campaigns on behalf of your clients.
For each product area with a campaign spend of $500 USD in 90 days you need to have one certification in that respective product area. You can let us know how many people in your organization are account strategists by selecting from the drop-down option on the Company details page from your "Partners program" tab.

Linked in Skillshop
There is a toggle at the top of the “Linked in Skillshop” column. When the arrow is facing down, the linked users will be displayed first.
- "Yes" will be displayed beside the user's name on the User certifications page in the "Linked in Skillshop" column, if they've connected their Google Ads account to their Skillshop user profile.
- If “Yes” is displayed, but there are no certifications, the user should go back to their Skillshop account and check if they've linked their Skillshop account where they have their Google Ads certifications.
- If “No” is displayed, the user will need to go to their Skillshop account and follow the steps to link to their Google Ads email address.
- If this field shows Shared with one other user, this means 2 users are associated to the same Skillshop account.
Make your certifications count towards the certifications requirement
1. Make sure you’re an eligible user.
Users need admin or standard level access on your company’s Google Partners registered Ads Manager account, or any account linked to your company’s Google Partners registered Ads manager account. Users with read-only and email-only access won’t contribute to the Certifications requirement.
2. Tell us if you think you should find a different number of account strategists.
You can inform us of how many users in your company are account strategists by going to the Company details page from your Partners program tab and selecting from the drop-down menu.
3. Associate your Skillshop account with your Google Ads account.
For your Skillshop certifications to count toward the Certification requirement, you’ll need to link your Google Ads account user email address with your Skillshop account by going to your Skillshop user profile. If you have more than one Skillshop account, ensure you are linking from your Skillshop account that has your Ads certifications. Learn more about how to link and unlink your Google Ads and Skillshop accounts.
4. Check the certified users in your Google Partners registered Ads manager account.
The Google Partners Users certifications table shows you the users that count toward your Google Partners Certifications requirement. You’ll notice admin and standard users in your company’s Google Partners registered Ads manager account, or any account linked to your company’s manager account, as well as the state of their certifications.
Note: If a user hasn’t linked their Google Ads account user email address with their Skillshop account, their certifications won’t show in the User certifications table, and the user will have a “No” by their email address in the “Linked in Skillshop” column.
