Within the “Billing” section of your account, you can view and update your card information and payer details.
Change whether your payments are made automatically or manually
Depending on the country of your billing address, you can switch between automatic and manual payments at any time:
- Automatic payments: Your automatic payment will happen on the first day of each month, and whenever your account reaches a payment threshold.
- Manual payments: You will need to manually make payments before your ads can run.
To change your payment method
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon
.
- Click Settings.
- Open the “How you pay” section, then click to open Alternative payment options to view other options available to you.
- Click Switch to manual or Switch to automatic and follow the steps in the pop-up window to confirm the change.
Update your card’s expiration date or nickname
To update your card's expiration date or nickname (without changing the account number):
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon
.
- Click Settings.
- Find the "Payment methods" section and follow instructions in that section to make an update.
Note: If your credit card or bank account number changes, you will need to add it as a new payment method and remove the old one.
Add or remove payment methods
To add a new payment method:
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon
.
- Click Settings.
- Open the "Payment methods" section and click Manage Payment methods.
- You will land on the page where you can follow the instructions to add a new payment method.
To remove a payment method:
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon
.
- Click Settings.
- Open the “Payment methods” section and click Manage Payment methods.
- You will land on the page where you can view all the payment methods you’ve added.
- Click Remove next to the payment method you want to delete .
Note that you may need to add a new payment method before you can remove one.
Update your payer details
To edit your payer details:
- In your Google Ads account, click the Billing icon
.
- Click Settings.
- Find the "Payer details" section.
- Click any field that has a pencil icon, and enter your updated information.
- Click Save.
Note: To change permissions related to the payments profile, visit the Google Payments Center and click Settings. Alternatively, open the “Payments users” section under “Settings” and make updates there. Only available to Google Ads users with Admin or Billing access to the account. Note that only a Payments profile Admin can delete Payments users.
To change your payment method
