Manage call reporting for your campaigns

Call reporting uses Google forwarding numbers to measure the performance of your call assets, location assets, and call ads.

All aspects of call reporting, including call assets, location assets, and call-only campaigns, can be managed at a single account level.

How it works

When call reporting is on, Google provides a unique phone number that's displayed with your ads. When a user calls this number, Google Ads routes the call to your business phone number. You can then find detailed reports on calls received from your ads, including call duration and caller area code.

Important considerations

  • Conversion tracking: If you turn call reporting off, Google Ads will stop tracking "Calls from ads" as conversions. This can impact Smart bidding strategies that rely on that data to optimize your campaigns.
  • Propagation time: After saving your changes, it can take up to 24 hours for the update to reflect in your live ads.
  • The Google forwarding number (GFN): When call reporting is turned on, Google replaces your business number in ads with a unique phone number that allows you to track the calls generated by your ads.
  • Regional availability: Call reporting is available in several countries, but if you don’t find the option in your Account settings, your country or account type may not currently support Google forwarding numbers.
