You can upload specific image ads to serve on the Google Display Network (GDN) within your Demand Gen campaigns. This feature allows you to use your classic display ads alongside other Demand Gen ad formats.

How to enable, create, and upload an Uploaded Display Ad
Follow the steps below to enable, create, and upload a Single Image Ad in your Demand Gen campaigns.
Step 1 of 2: Set up Google Display Network as your ad channel
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu

- Hover over an existing Demand Gen campaign and select the gear icon
next to its campaign name.
- Note: If you’re creating a new Demand Gen campaign, follow the steps on how to Create a Demand Gen campaign.
- In the “Ad group” set up page, open the Channels dropdown and select Let me choose.
- In the “Let me choose” dropdown section, check the box next to “Google Display Network”.
- Note: Alternatively, you can select the All Google Channel option and confirm that the “Include Google Display Network” checkbox is checked. All channels are checked by default.
- When done, select Save all changes or Go to Ad 1.
Step 2 of 2: Upload an Uploaded Display Ad
- In the “Ad” creation page, select Uploaded display ad in the “Choose which type of ad to create” section.
- Note: The “Uploaded display ad” option is available when the “Google Display Network” is the selected ad channel.
- In the “Classic display assets” section, select Add and in the slider panel, select Choose files to upload.
- Note: You can upload images in GIF, JPG, and PNG format.
- Select all the assets that you want to serve in the Display Network and select Save to confirm.
- You can find the preview of the images under the “Classic display assets” section.
View reporting details for Uploaded Display Ads
You can track how your Uploaded Display Ad performs in your standard reports. Look for “Classic display image” in the “Asset type” column of your asset details table. The asset type for the display ads will show up under “Classic display image”.
