About asset reporting in Display

The asset report lists each asset used in a Display campaign and allows you to compare performance across a variety of assets. Over time, you'll be able to make strategic decisions about your assets, such as which ones to rotate, remove or improve. This report helps you focus on creating assets that deliver better performance. It also gives you an indication of when to create new assets that drive better performance based on similar assets.

Get started

You’ll need to set up a Display campaign to view your asset report. Learn more about display ads and the Google Display Network.

How it works

Asset reporting allows you to check how your assets are performing at multiple levels: As a single asset, an asset group, a campaign or across several campaigns at the same time.

This article provides a high-level overview of asset-level reporting. Refer to the related articles to learn more about asset-level metrics and asset reporting for display ads and campaigns.

You can view information about the creation and modification dates of your assets on the Assets page from the 'Last updated' column. This column shows the most recent date an asset was added, edited, paused or removed from your account, campaign, ad group or asset group. These details can help you identify which assets may need refreshing.

Asset reporting for your Display campaigns

To review the performance of all assets within a Display campaign or across all Display campaigns, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Assets within the Campaigns menu.
  2. In the 'Assets' page, select the Performance tab.
  3. Above the statistics table, select the Columns icon A picture of the Google Ads columns icon, then select Modify columns in the drop-down menu.
  4. Browse the available metrics and click the box next to the metrics that you want to include in your report.
  5. When done, select Apply.

Evaluating individual asset performance

Detailed performance metrics are also available at the individual asset level, for both user-uploaded assets and assets created with text customisation. Learn more about asset-level metrics.
