To achieve optimal performance from your call assets, we recommend the following checklist.
Enable call reporting and track conversions:
- Enable call reporting for your campaigns.
 - Mark the conversion action mapped to your call asset as primary. Learn How to configure call conversions as primary.
 - If your aim is to generate only phone call leads, remove all other goals from campaign settings.
 - For campaigns with multiple conversion goals, set your bidding strategy to "Maximize conversion value" for the best call asset performance. Ensure that you update the value of your conversion action to accurately reflect the value of a high-quality conversion for your business.
 
Enhance call asset effectiveness:
- Add at least 2 images to your responsive search ad.
 - Link your Google Business Profile to your Google ads account, if applicable.
 - Edit your call assets to include business hours to receive calls only during business hours.
 
How to configure call conversions as primary
- Go to Summary under the Conversions drop down within the Goals 
menu.
 - Under the Goals tab, locate the goal that includes the call from ads conversion action. By default, it is included under the Phone call lead conversion goal.
 - If the action optimization is set to secondary, click on the conversion action, then select Edit settings.
 - In the action optimization section, select Primary.
 - Select Save.
