With Demand Gen’s video crop and trim tool, you can manually edit the aspect ratio and duration of your videos directly within Google Ads. This allows you to seamlessly fit your videos into horizontal, square or vertical formats, and helps ensure that the most impactful moments in your videos are delivered to your audience.
How it works
- Crop: Adjust the aspect ratio of your video to fit seamlessly into horizontal (16:9), square (1:1) or vertical (9:16) formats.
- Trim: Precisely edit the length of your video, ensuring the most impactful moments are delivered to your audience. You can adjust the original duration of an uploaded video to any length between 5 and 300 seconds.
- Note: The uploaded video’s length must be at least 5 seconds.
How to access
- Go to Campaigns within the Campaigns menu.
- Hover over an existing Demand Gen campaign and click the gear icon
next to its campaign name.
- Note: If you’re creating a new Demand Gen campaign, follow the steps on how to Create a Demand Gen campaign.
- Under an ad group, click the 3-dot icon
, then select Create new ad.
- On the ad builder page, select Video ad under the 'Choose which type of ad to create' card.
- Under the 'Media' card, click + Add.
- Select your video that you’ll upload, then click Save.
- Click the pencil icon
next to your video.
- Select from horizontal (16:9), square (1:1) or vertical (9:16) for the aspect ratio by clicking the respective options.
- Move the crop area within the video frame to select the portion you want to include in the final output.
- Trim the length of your video by dragging the respective sliders.
- Use the preview function to check how your cropped or trimmed video will look and sound.
- To save your cropped or trimmed video as a new video, click Save as new video.
- When done, click Done with videos.
