About the 'Billing activity' page

The 'Billing activity' page displays the last 3 months of an automatic or manual payment account's activity. It gives advertisers a clear and detailed view of the billing history. This page also complements the information provided in the billing summary page by adding more detailed data, such as a daily activity view.

Benefits of the 'Billing activity' page

  • It gives advertisers a new level of transparency by displaying every financial event and its impact on an account’s balance.
  • Makes it possible to track costs and credits in sequence and reconcile with payments.
  • Offers a more comprehensive view as all items are listed by date, categorised by type and display a clear description.

How it works

The date range selector in the top right-hand corner allows you to view specific months. You can select up to a 3-month range, from account creation to the current day.

The following details are found in the 'Type' column:

  • Taxes and fees: The current month shows a daily-updating estimated tax (as the latest event with its date range). Closed months display the final tax as the last item.
  • Promotions: Active promotions in the current month appear as a single item, with the available amount in 'Credits' increasing daily until spent. Previous months show the total spent promotion as a final item.
  • Adjustments: The type of adjustment and its date range. Invalid traffic credits received will have an additional line stating the original month of service in which it occurred. Multiple lines may appear if they correspond to different months of service. Click View details for a campaign breakdown.
  • Payment: This shows the payment type (automatic or manual) and the form of payment used including status (declined, pending, failed and more).
  • Campaigns: This shows the number of running campaigns.
  • Shared budgets: If an account is using shared budgets, they'll be displayed separately from campaigns. Click any shared budget to go to the 'Shared budgets' page, which will be filtered by the appropriate budget and date range.

Customise your 'Billing activity' page

You can customise the 'Billing activity' page columns via the 'Columns' menu (top right). Here are some column definitions you might find useful:

  • Clicks: Match campaign activity to pay-per-click charges. Numbers displayed here are the billable clicks on that specific date. The total cost of these clicks will be shown in the 'Cost' column.
  • Impressions: Match campaign activity to pay-per-impression charges. Numbers displayed here are the billable impressions on that specific date. Details shown here will only include impressions that you’re charged for and may not match the Campaigns page. The total cost of these impressions will be shown in the 'Cost' column.
  • Conversions: Match campaign activity to pay-per-conversion charges. Numbers displayed here are the billable conversions on that specific date. The total cost of these conversions will be shown in the 'Cost' column.
  • Costs: This shows campaign and shared budgets costs, taxes and fees.
  • Credits: This shows any payments, promotions and overdelivery per campaign.
  • Running balance: This shows how each billing activity affects your balance.
