Generate videos with Gemini Apps

You can create short videos in minutes with Veo 2, our latest video generation model, in Gemini Apps. Simply describe what you have in mind and watch your ideas come to life in motion – whether you're creating for fun, sharing with friends, or visualizing a concept.

What you need

To use this feature, you must have Gemini Advanced. Learn about Gemini Advanced.
For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 18.
This feature isn’t available for users signed in to a work or school Google Account.
To use this feature, you must be signed in to Gemini Apps. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.

Important:

This feature is being released gradually, so it may not be available to you just yet.
When you generate videos with Gemini Apps, remember that you agreed to Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy. Be sure not to violate others' rights, including copyright or privacy rights. Use your discretion before you rely on, publish, or use content that Gemini Apps generate.

Generate a video

On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
At the top, click Gemini Advanced Veo 2.
In the text box, enter a prompt of the video you want to generate.
Click Submit .

Tips:

Videos generated in Gemini Apps are 8 seconds long.
It may take 1–2 minutes for the video to be generated.
- While your video is being generated, you can’t interact with the same chat. You can start a new chat and come back to view your video later.

Download a generated video

To download a video:

Hover over the video frame.
Click Download .

Share generated video to chat

Important: When you share a chat with a video generated in Gemini Apps, your shared chat will note that the video was created with Veo 2.

Video generation limits

There are limits for how many videos you can create. You’ll get a notification when you’re close to the limit.

Why Gemini Apps might remove or not generate a video

Gemini Apps may remove videos when our systems detect a possible violation of Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy.
