Generate Audio Overviews in Gemini Apps

You can create podcast-style conversations from documents, slides, and Deep Research reports with Audio Overviews in Gemini Apps.

What you need

For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 18 years old.
To use this feature, you must be signed in to Gemini Apps. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.

Go to gemini.google.com or open the Gemini mobile app .
Tap Add file and select the file you want to upload.

Tap Generate Audio Overview.
- It usually takes about 3-5 minutes to generate the Audio Overview. While you wait, you can leave the chat and start a new chat.

When the Audio Overview is ready, Gemini will notify you:

In the web app: Next to the chat thread with your completed report.
In the mobile app: As a notification on your device. The notification may appear when your device is locked depending on your settings.

Go to gemini.google.com.
If your chats are hidden, at the top, tap Menu .
On the side panel, select the chat with the Audio Overview you want to listen to.
Tap Play .

Go to gemini.google.com.
If your chats are hidden, at the top, tap Menu .
On the side panel, select the chat with the Audio Overview you want to share.
In the Audio Overview player, tap More .
Choose how you want to share:
- To share the link: At the top, next to the g.co/gemini/share link, tap Copy public link . Then paste it where you want to share, like in a messaging app or a forum thread.
- To share on an available social platform: At the bottom, tap the social platform and follow the on-screen instructions.

Open the Gemini mobile app .
To the right of Chats & Gems, tap Show more .
Select the chat with the Audio Overview you want to share.
Tap the Audio Overview card.
- A new tab will open in your default browser.
In the Audio Overview player, tap More .
Choose how you want to share or download:
- To share on an available social platform: At the top, tap the social platform and follow the on-screen instructions.
- To download the Audio Overview: At the top bottom, tap Download.
- To share the link: At the top bottom, tap Copy. Then paste it where you want to share, like in a messaging app, an email draft, or a forum thread.
