Question: "I forgot my password (PIN). What do i do?"
Answer: You will have to reset the safe folder in the setings of the app. This will wipe all of the files in the safe folder. Recovery is not possible.

Steps to reset your safe folder pin or pattern:
- On your Android device, open the Files by Google app
- At the top left, tap Menu Settings
- Select Safe folder > Reset your Safe folder
- In the confirmation dialog, tap Reset

Answer: No.

Answer: No.
The safe folder is an encrypted folder, you threw the only (encryption) key away, the data is not recoverable.

Answer: This process should take a couple of minutes. Make sure you have enough space for the security update. If it takes longer than 30 minutes, you are affected by the bug. Do NOT uninstall the app, follow the steps here.

Answer: This is not possible, your phone is probably using some kind of clean up app or service that removes hidden folders. Blame that app, it is not caused by the Files by Google app.
