Call forwarding & caller ID

You can set up call forwarding and change your outgoing caller ID info.

Set up call forwarding

You can forward the calls you receive to a separate number.

Call forwarding with Google Fi must be set up on fi.google.com or within your Google Fi app, not within your Android or iPhone’s device settings.

To set up call forwarding for the first time:

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app .
  2. In the "Home" tab, under "Phone settings," select Call forwarding.
  3. Choose your call forwarding preference.
    1. Don’t forward: Only your primary phone number will ring. Your forwarding numbers won’t ring.
    2. Ring all numbers: Your primary and selected forwarding numbers will ring at the same time.
    3. Always forward: The call will always be forwarded to your selected number and your primary number won’t ring.
  4. Select "Add a number."
  5. You'll be asked to verify the number. Follow the onscreen steps to complete verification.
    1. If you're experiencing difficulties receiving OTP through SMS, try using the "verify by call" option instead.
  6. Click Save to ensure your selection is applied.

When using the "Ring all numbers" forwarding option, you can select one or more forwarding numbers to ring alongside your primary number. For the “Always forward” option, you can only select one forwarding number.

To add additional call forwarding numbers:

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app .
  2. In the "Home" tab, under "Phone settings," select Call forwarding.
  3. Select Add a number.
  4. You'll be asked to verify the number. Follow the onscreen steps to complete verification.
    1. If you're experiencing difficulties receiving OTP through SMS, try using the "verify by call" option instead
  5. Click Save to ensure your selection is applied.

Change your call forwarding selection

You can select a new call forwarding preference at any time.

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app .
  2. In the "Home" tab, under "Phone settings," select Call forwarding.
  3. Choose your new call forwarding preference.
    1. Don’t forward: Only your primary phone number will ring. Your forwarding numbers won’t ring.
    2. Ring all numbers: Your primary and selected forwarding numbers will ring at the same time.
    3. Always forward: The call will always be forwarded to your selected number and your primary number won’t ring.
  4. Click Save to ensure your selection is applied.

Remove a call forwarding number

  1. Open the Google Fi website or app .
  2. In the "Home" tab, under "Phone settings," select Call forwarding.
  3. Select [Pencil Icon] for the number you wish to remove.
  4. Click Remove.
