Important: This feature isn’t available for iPhone®.
You can use your computer with your Google Fi service to text through Google Messages for web. It also shows what’s on your Google Messages mobile app.
To receive messages on the web with Google Messages, you need to turn on your phone and pair it to your Google Account. Don't use QR pairing or you won’t be able to get the full experience.
- You can only use this feature if your primary phone is on Android OS. Make sure to download the latest version of Messages by Google (10.31 or later).
- You can't receive two-factor authentication text messages with Messages for web. To receive these messages, you must use a phone.
Access Messages for web
Learn how to check your messages on your computer.
- After you opt-in to Google Messages for web on your computer, keep your phone on and connected to the internet, to receive new messages.
- You can send and receive texts like high-resolution photos with Rich Communication Service chats or RCS chats. Make sure that RCS is enabled in your Android device’s message settings.
- Standard carrier fees apply, like on the mobile app.
Fix problems with Messages for web
Troubleshoot message syncing problems- First, check that your Google Fi phone is on, and you’re successfully receiving messages in the Google Message phone app.
- Next, file feedback from the Messages app on your phone:
- At the top right, tap your Account icon

- At the top right, tap your Account icon
- If you are still not receiving messages on the web, check out the Google Messages Help Center article.
- Do not copy and paste the phone number. Type it instead.
- For international messages, type the correct country or region code. Do not enter it twice.
Delete texts on the web
Delete a textImportant: If you delete messages from the Web, your texts in the Messages app on your device will also be deleted.
- Open Messages for web.
- On the left, select Messages

- Next to the text message you want to delete, select More
.
- Tap Delete.
Enable RCS on your device
- On your device, open Google Messages
.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial

RCS chats.
- Turn on RCS.
- Tap Retry.
- In the confirmation dialog, tap Continue.
After you complete the stop sync and sign out steps, RCS should automatically activate. This can take some time. To speed up activation, go to your Messages app settings and tap Retry under "RCS chats."
Pair your devices
- On your computer or Android tablet, open Messages for web.
- To pair with your primary device, follow the on-screen instructions.
- On your primary device, open Messages for web with no signed account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Another way to pair your devices:
- On your device, tap Messages.
- On the Home screen, go to account options.
- Tap Device pairing.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
