If your bill is higher than expected, it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:
Switched to an Unlimited planWhen you switch from the Flexible plan to the Unlimited Essentials, Unlimited Standard, or Unlimited Premium plan, your first bill may be higher than usual.
Your bill includes:
- Prepaid monthly charge for owner and members of the Unlimited plan for the next bill cycle.
- Postpaid data use of the owner and members from the Flexible plan, billed at $10 per GB from the previous bill cycle per month.
- Postpaid extra services used in the last cycle, such as:
- International calls
- Return to full-speed data
- Prorated charges for new members
For example:
You just switched from the Flexible plan to an individual Unlimited Standard plan. In your last month, you used $20 of data on your Flexible plan. Your next bill includes:
- $20 postpaid data from the Flexible plan
- $50 prepaid Unlimited Standard plan
When you add a member to your group plan, your monthly bill is prorated to reflect this change.
For example: If you add a member to your Flexible plan on June 15 and your billing cycle ends on June 20, your bill is prorated to reflect the 5 days that the new member was on your plan during that billing cycle.
You may have extra charges if you:
- Made international calls from the US to over 50 countries or regions. This is at no charge with the Unlimited Premium plan.
- Used your phone outside the US.
The charges above appear in your next billing statement.
To check your upcoming charges:
- Open the Google Fi app
or the Google Fi website.
- In the “Home” tab, select Overview
Extras this cycle so far.
International charges can take up to 60 days to appear, so the details you find may not be up to date.
Check service credits or prorated charges
- Follow the same steps listed above.
- Check under “Extras this cycle so far.”
In the Unlimited Premium plan, calls to over 50 countries and regions are included. For calls to other destinations, you're charged per minute. Check rates for other covered destinations.
In your billing statement, international long distance charges appear under “Additional Charges & Credits.” Learn how to call and text other countries from the US.
Your Google Fi bill includes both your Google Fi plan and Pixel Pass subscription. Your statement breaks down charges between Google Fi and Pixel Pass.
In the Pixel Pass section of your bill, you get line items for:
- Your device
- Any bundled products, like Play Pass, YouTube Premium, or Google One
- Device protection
You may also find a line item for additional charges for a Google One membership higher than 200 GB.
If you had subscriptions to Play Pass, YouTube Premium, or Google One before you subscribe to Pixel Pass:
- You can no longer get bills for these services.
- These are included in your Pixel Pass bill.
