All eligible Google Fi users automatically get AI-enhanced audio on select calls. This feature removes background noise and clarifies speech in the voice-call experience to enhance the overall call quality.
Availability & indicators
This feature is automatically on for iOS devices and Android devices on version 11 (R) or higher. Learn more about Google Fi support for versions of Android OS.
If you use Phone by Google on an Android device, you can find a label on the in-call display when the AI-enhanced audio is active. You also get a silent drop-down notification during the call.
The in-call display and silent drop-down notification aren’t available on iOS devices but you can change feature settings anytime in the Google Fi app.
Turn AI-enhanced audio on or off
- On your phone, open the Google Fi app

- At the bottom, tap Home
Call quality.
- Turn AI-enhanced audio on or off.
Call quality.Tip: If you’re an Android user, to easily turn this feature on or off, you can use the silent drop-down notification. This change takes effect on the next call.
