Google Maps is available for children with Google Accounts managed with Family Link.
How Google Maps works
For the most part, Google Maps will be the same for children as it is for adults. If your child is under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), they won't be able to do things like:
- Contribute content including photos, ratings, reviews and accompanying text, and questions and answers
- Publish public place lists
- Add or edit places on the map
- See a timeline of places they’ve been
Location sharing in Google Maps
It’s possible to share your location with others in Google Maps. To manage whether your child can share their location, you can turn your child’s location settings on or off.
