What happens when my child signs in on a Fitbit Ace LTE

When you use Family Link to manage your child’s Google Account, you can sign them in to most Google services on their Fitbit Ace LTE.

When your child is signed in on their Fitbit Ace LTE with their Google Account, as a parent, you can:

  • Set School time
  • Monitor their location and set location settings
  • Check the battery level
  • Reset and delete data
  • Delete accounts
  • Download account data

Sign in to Fitbit Ace app

  1. On your phone, open the Fitbit Ace app.
  2. Sign in with your Google Account.
  3. If you’re setting up for your child, tap My child will wear the watch.
    • If you’re setting up the watch for yourself, tap I will wear the watch.
  4. To add your child:
    • If you have a Google Family linked to your account, you can either:
      • Select the child account from the list.
      • Create a new child’s account.
    • If you don’t have an existing Google Family: When you create a new child account, a family group will be automatically created. Learn more about Google Family Groups.

Sign in on other devices

Important: Family Link’s parental control settings may vary depending on your child’s device. Learn which devices can be supervised.

With parental permission, your child can use their Google Account to sign in on:

Manage School time in Family Link

Important: Make sure you have a compatible device. Check your device compatibility.

  1. On your device, open Family Link Family Link.
  2. Select your child.
  3. At the bottom left, tap Screen time and then Schedules and then School time.
    • To turn on "School time," tap School time card.
    • To make changes to the weekly schedule, tap Weekly schedule.
      • To turn "School time" on or off for specific days:
        1. Tap Weekly schedule.
        2. To turn “School time” on or off, tap the text indicating the day, like Sun, Mon, or Tue.
      • To change "Start time" and "End time:"
        1. Select a day.
        2. Select the Start time and End time.
        3. Tap Done.
    • To temporarily change today’s schedule, tap Today.
      • To turn off "School time" for today:
        1. Turn off School time ON.
        2. Tap Done.
      • To change the "School time" hours for today:
        1. Select the Start time and End time.
        2. Tap Done.
    • To turn on “Unlimited Apps” during School time, tap Allowed Apps.
      • If you don't have any Unlimited Apps:
        1. Tap Select Apps.
        2. Change apps you want available during school time to “Unlimited Time.”
      • If you already have Unlimited Apps:
        1. Tap Unlimited Apps.
        2. To add or remove Unlimited Apps, tap View app list.

Add a school time break

  1. On your device, open Family Link Family Link.
  2. Select your child.
  3. At the bottom left, tap Screen time and then Schedules and then School time.
  4. Tap Weekly schedule.
  5. Select a day.
  6. Tap Break.
  7. Select Start time and End time.
    • To apply break for the whole week, select Apply Monday-Friday.
  8. Tap Done.

Delete a school time break

  1. On your device, open Family Link Family Link .
  2. Select your child.
  3. At the bottom left, tap Screen time and then Schedules and then School time.
  4. Tap Weekly schedule.
  5. Select a day.
  6. Tap Break and then Delete break and then Done.

Tips:

  • If your child’s watch has connectivity, changes will take effect immediately on their Fitbit Ace LTE.
  • Changes to School time settings in Family Link will also be applied to the Fitbit Ace app.
