You can change your profile photo or password in Classroom. If you want to change your profile name that's used for all Google services, contact your Google Workspace administrator.
Change your profile name
To change your first and last name that's used for all Google services, contact your Google Workspace administrator. Find out who your administrator is.
After you change your profile name, the new name shows up in your:
- Messages
- Shared documents
- Calendar invitations
- School's searchable directory
Your email address and the name that you use to sign in to your account don't change.
Change your profile picture
You can display a profile picture next to your name in Classroom. If you teach in a school, your profile picture in Google Workspace for Education is also your Classroom profile picture.
After you add a profile picture, you can't remove it, but you can replace it with a different photo. Your photo can be a JPG, JPEG or PNG file up to 5 MB. Photos of any dimension scale automatically.
- On your computer, go to classroom.google.com.
- Click Sign in.
- Tip: Sign in with your Google Account. For example, [email protected] or [email protected]. Learn how to sign in to Classroom.
- At the top left, click Menu

- Under 'Profile picture', click Change.
- To add or edit a profile picture, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Tip: To crop your photo:
- Resize the box.
- Click Next.

- Click Save as profile picture.
