Features of Gemini in Classroom

Gemini in Classroom currently includes the following features:

  • Outline a lesson plan: You can generate learning objectives and lesson plans with generative AI. This feature can provide creative inspiration to help you get started or help make your lesson plans more engaging for students. You can also export the file to Google Docs.
  • Craft a compelling hook: Spark ideas for fun and new ways to engage students. These can be used as short lesson openers, class activities, or more. You can also specify engagement types to tailor ideas to your students' interests.
  • Generate a quiz: You can generate questions to check students’ understanding or create a quick quiz. This feature can help you generate questions aligned to your instruction with direct export to Google Forms.
  • Re-level text: Create a simplified version of your text to accommodate a specific reading level.
  • Create a vocabulary list: Generate a list of relevant grade-appropriate vocabulary words for a topic. Vocabulary lists include the grammatical categories, definitions, and examples of the usage.
  • Generate text-dependent questions: Based on any text, generate questions as an exit ticket, formal assessment, or to support reading comprehension.
  • Create a rubric: Define evaluation criteria and expectations for your students.
  • Tackle common misconceptions: Find remediation strategies for the top misconceptions about a topic.
  • Brainstorm project ideas: Engage students with any topic through individual or group projects.
  • Translate text: Translate your text in over 100 languages through AI and share with your class.
  • Build a choice board: Provide students a choice of diverse activities to practice or display mastery on a given topic.
  • Write an informational text: Write an engaging informational text to help students learn about a topic.
  • Write a story: Use AI to generate engaging, imaginative and captivating stories.

AI can never replace the expertise, knowledge, or creativity of an educator, but it can be a helpful tool to elevate teaching and learning experiences.
