Share your Gemini sources using Drive projects

Important: To use Gemini in Drive, you must have an eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan. Learn more about Gemini features and plans.

Note:

  • You can only create new Drive projects on the web (drive.google.com).
  • On the Drive mobile app (Android and iOS), you can:
    • Open and view existing projects,
    • View project summaries and conversation history,
    • Ask Gemini questions about the project sources. Project sources are view-only on mobile. You cannot add or remove sources when using the mobile app.

While a standard Gemini conversation in Drive saves your conversation to history, creating a project locks in a specific set of source files, folders, or emails. This allows you to have multiple unique conversations using the exact same foundation of documents or emails, and makes it possible to share the project with your team while maintaining the original location of your source files and folders.
