Collaborate with Gemini in Google Drive (Workspace Labs)

1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
2. At the top right, click Ask Gemini .
   1. In the side panel, select a prompt or create your own. To limit your query to a specific folder, click Add Sources or type “@” followed by the folder name.
      • Example: "Find my files for Project Clover in @2024 Projects."
      Tip: To remove selected resources, select the folder(s) Clear selected sources .
3. Press Enter.
4. After you receive a response:
   1. To show a full summary, click View more .
   2. To find which files and documents were used to generate the response, click Sources.
   3. To generate new text, click Retry .

Tip: To understand your folder better, you can ask Gemini questions, such as:

• “When is the next product review based on this folder?”
• “Tell me about @[Contract folder]”
• “What are the documents from Alice in this folder?”

1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.

4. Press Enter.
5. After you receive a response:
   1. For file summaries, click Sources to find which files and documents were used to generate the response
   2. To generate new text, click Retry .

To create new files and folders:

1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
2. At the top right, click Ask Gemini .
3. In the side panel, enter a prompt.
   • Examples:
     • “Create a folder called Design.”
     • “Create a sheet called Acme Campaign Planning.”
       • If you don’t name the new file or folder, Gemini asks you what to name it.
4. On your keyboard, press Enter.
5. You receive confirmation that the file or folder is created and where it’s located.
   • Tip: If you have a folder open in Drive and have edit access to that folder, the new file or folder is created within that folder. If you’re anywhere else in Drive, it’s created in My Drive.

• “How can I make someone else the owner of my file?”
• “How can I find a specific file in my Drive?”

Important: To get answers from the web, make sure to include phrases like “Use Google Search” or “Using web search” in your prompt.

• “Write a paragraph describing the weather today in Mountain View, California using web search.”
• “Help me write a paragraph explaining if lightning can strike the same place twice using only information from the web.”

You can ask Gemini to generate images in Drive.

1. On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
2. At the top right, click Ask Gemini .
3. On the side panel, create your own prompt.
   • Example: “Create an image of a dog with glasses.”
4. You can also:
   • Change your prompt: Click Edit prompt .
   • Send feedback about the generated images: At the bottom, click Good suggestion or Bad suggestion .

1. On your computer, at the top right, click Ask Gemini .
2. On the right, in the side panel, click Gems.
3. Click the Gem you want to use.
4. Select a custom or premade Gem.
   • To start a conversation with the Gem, type a question or prompt at the bottom.
