You can record yourself (or just your voice) presenting your slides with Google Vids recording through Google Slides However,
Feature availability:
- This feature may only be available on certain work or school accounts
- You can only record your presentations in Google Chrome and Edge browsers. But, you can view, share, and delete recordings from any Drive supported browser.
Create a video recording of your slides with Google Vids
You can record your slides using Google Vids. You can use additional recording and editing options directly within Vids, including transcript trim.
- Open a presentation in Google Slides.
- On the right click the Record
, then click Record video.
- Select what you want to show in the video:
- To record yourself in (Picture-in-picture mode) and your slides select Camera & Screen.
- To record voice only, click Audio.
- To record slideshow only, click Screen.
- Optional: To apply visual effects, click
.
- Optional: To use a different camera or microphone, select the connected devices from the drop down menus below your camera preview.
- To confirm setup and choose your presentation, click Next once your setup is ready. Choose the presentation you want to show, then click Share.
- To edit your recording in Google Vids, click Edit
.
- Optional: To share, click Share & copy link.

- To view your recording, open Google Vids.

Troubleshoot camera & microphone
When you create a Slides recording in Vids for the first time, it asks for a series of permissions to use the camera and microphone of your computer.
Tip: Camera and microphone access isn't required to start recording.
If you decide not to grant access to your camera or microphone, you can change it later.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Enter any of the following in the address bar:
- chrome://settings/content/microphone
- chrome://settings/content/camera
- Adjust the settings to grant access.
